Max Langer has returned to Kiara's life, but confesses that he wants to fight for Doménica's love, so he proposes a deal where Kiara gets his money. However, to do this, he needs Kiara's support again and to form a team. Mercedes, upon discovering that the only way to drop the charges against Doménica and free her from prison is to accept compensation, considers it fair to accept the money as reparation for the harm she feels has been caused to her family. Max Langer intercepts Doménica to confess the truth about why he abandoned her at the altar. He tries to justify himself and ask for her forgiveness, but Doménica is deeply shaken by his return and discovers that he was the one who paid her bail. Max returns to Doménica's house to apologize again for the harm he caused her and her family. However, Luis Fernando interrupts them just as they are embracing, interpreting the scene in the worst possible way.
