These days, when most people are hungry for a sandwich they head to places like Subway, Panera Bread, Jimmy John’s, Jersey Mike’s, or maybe even Firehouse. But once upon a time, not too long ago, the first name in sandwich shops was Blimpie. It even sounds delicious, like you’re going to get a whole lot of sammie for your buck. So what made this once-giant franchise go the way of the Hindenburg?
