The starting signal for the 4000 km ultrarace from Italy to the North Cape is given. The participants set off in the rain, still in a group, but soon the field thins out. Step by step, I find my rhythm, overtake the first riders, master the Brenner Pass, and reach Innsbruck. More showers and a tough climb challenge me before day 1 ends.
