"I am what I write." João Pedro Pais celebrates 20 years of his career and is at the Sociedade Recreativa this week. The interview takes place at the São Paulo Baths building in Lisbon, where João Pedro Pais trained in Greco-Roman wrestling. He was a world champion in the sport, and in music, he also recognizes this competitive nature, but "without harming anyone." He never accepted being treated like "a product," dislikes confusion, and can sometimes even seem like a "country bumpkin." He has a new album, which brings together some of his best songs and two new songs. Between friendships and family, he prefers to be among those he loves most and to watch his 18-year-old son, Salvador, play.
