Harvest time in Schleswig-Holstein! To this day, the good German cabbage is picked from the field by hand. Hard work, little money. We Germans can hardly be motivated to do this anymore. But for Romanian migrant workers the harvest is worth it, the minimum wage in their own country is only €3.10, here in Germany it has just risen to €12. Seasonal workers have been coming to the mini-town of Wesselburen since the 1990s. Formerly from Poland, now from Romania. The fact that Romanian families are settling there - becoming fellow citizens - leads to resentment. How is living together? We get to know the place and its residents.
