Louvetot is beginning to believe that David's theories aren't so far-fetched. He, in turn, follows the library trail, which leads him, like David, to the monastery. But their suspect turns out to be innocent, and Louvetot is taken off the case. It's then that the killer makes contact with him… Meanwhile, Aurélie Poulidor, the French teacher who so admires David Rousseau, collects her students' latest writing assignments. One of them is particularly striking.
