Bullied, beaten, filmed: Youth violence goes viral (2023x19)

The death of 12-year-old Luise from Freudenberg, the beating of two girls in Erfurt and the humiliation of a 13-year-old from Heide - perpetrated by peers and partly shared on TikTok and Co. It is these cases of brutal violence and bullying that leave many stunned in front of their cell phones and raise the question: Are today's children and young people more violent than before? And what role does social media play in this? The answer is: complicated. We went looking for bullies and those being bullied and in Heide, another town in northern Germany, we came across bullies, doxxing and even more hatred and vigilantism on the internet and in the comment columns.
