In Altötting, Bavaria, people are no longer allowed to donate blood to others because it is toxic. You have too much PFAS in your blood. A factory on the outskirts of town worked with these chemicals. These found their way into the surrounding soil and thus into the groundwater. PFAS are used to produce a wide variety of products with a “non-stick effect”: outdoor clothing, cosmetics, baking paper, artificial turf, dental floss and much more. Even if the products themselves are hardly dangerous when used correctly, problems arise during production and disposal. PFAS are suspected of causing serious illnesses. The EU is considering a ban on the group of substances. CTRL_F reporter Johannes has his blood tested. Does he also have PFAS in his blood? And is that a cause for concern?
