New York and Bergamo – the corona virus is raging particularly violently here. By mid-March, Italy had already suffered more deaths than China and became the European epicenter of the crisis. The military had to help transport bodies away. In the USA and especially New York the situation seems to have gotten completely out of control. More than 20,000 deaths, including over 10,000 deaths in New York state alone. How is the fight against the virus in a state of emergency? And why are these two regions in particular so badly affected? Emely Riemer and Han Park set out to find people who would report from where the virus outbreak was worst.
