The Court Jester sets the King's animals on a stampede, which keeps everyone busy while a group of Gutangs land and raid a nearby farm, until Arin, Aruzia, Teddy, and Grubby drive them off. Later that night at the banquet, Teddy recounts how he first met Grubby when they were boys. King Nogburt is mysteriously poisoned, just as the Gutangs mount another raid.
