Munch's adopted son, Joseph, was arrested and taken into custody. He is suspected of the murder of Arnaud Carlier, lawyer of the pharmaceutical laboratory against which he and Bellanger were fighting. Convinced of his innocence, Munch will engage in the most twisted schemes to free him. But in digging into the file, Munch and Bellanger come up against the powerful American laboratory, which intends to defend its interests.
