The foolish, arrogant crone principal commandeers master Buys, his colleagues and pupils for an ill-planned PTA open door day, which nobody is motivated or properly prepared for. The janitor's offer to act as DJ is blindly accepted, like a ridiculous 'modern sculpture'. The pupils practice clever sabotage. Buys drinks himself courage for a model history class on an obscure Flemish count, but overdoes that, so the janitor takes over with incomplete notes and proves a hopeless improviser.
