An Indonesian family is murdered on board a yacht on the Straits of Malacca. International Crime Department (ICD) officer Serena Teo investigates, while in Jakarta, another ICD officer – Heriyanto (Heri) Salim - faces a personal tragedy that seems to be linked to the Johor murder.

Serena’s missing partner Megat Jamil reappears in an unlikely place, by the side of Datuk Ishak Hassan, a kingpin connected to a sinister crime network. Meanwhile, Heri inserts himself into the Johor case, much to Serena’s consternation.

Ishak realizes the killer’s MO replicates an old gangland method and becomes convinced his rival Madam Yong is out to get him. Megat and Serena meet in a heartfelt encounter.

ICD moves closer to uncovering the killer’s identity as Ishak wrestles with Madam Yong over a piece of land that is critical to his business. Ishak’s son Zek plots behind his back to dig his way out of a dire financial situation. Heri struggles to hide his personal connection to the case.
