Jonny Watts has her future planned out: she'll be a veterinarian who writes mystery stories in her spare time. Her graduate studies are going well -- until her internet research leads her into an obsession with Sheridan Hume, a brilliant but eccentric female private investigator. To Jonny's astonishment, Sheridan takes her on as a kind of Watson to her Holmes. Together they investigate the theft of an unbeatable silver race car and the murder of the genius who designed its engine.
