Austin is brutally attacked by goons and hospitalized with serious head trauma. At the hospital, Billie blames Carrie for the incident, but Carrie stands up for herself, revealing her own painful past. The two reconcile and await Austin's recovery. Jack mysteriously finds hundreds of thousands of dollars in a barn and gets drunk celebrating. When Jennifer tries to sell their furniture to prepare for a potential Saudi Arabia move, Jack drunkenly sabotages the sale. He hides the money in an ugly vase, but Jennifer unknowingly throws it out with the trash. Meanwhile, Roman and Marlena enjoy a playful Marx Brothers-themed date at the movies, complete with costumes. John unexpectedly joins them, and they watch "A Day at the Races" together. Later, Marlena reflects to John that memories define who we are and should never be forgotten. When Rebecca interrupts to discuss a case with Roman, Marlena's jealous reaction is evident as the couple heads home.
