Lexie nearly quits medical school but Jonah persuades her to persevere. Kate suspects pregnancy after feeling nausea, but hospital tests confirm she's not pregnant, leaving her devastated. Victor reassures her they'll keep trying. Lucas orchestrates a scheme to manipulate Carrie by having Brandee claim involvement with Austin. When Brandee is fired and confesses the deception, the truth emerges: Lucas wanted to drive Austin and Carrie apart to win Carrie for himself. Austin and Lucas fight, and Carrie slaps Lucas when he attempts to explain. Austin asks Carrie out for lunch the next day.
