Stefano questions Kristen about Sami kidnapping Belle and offers John a million‑dollar reward, which John refuses. John catches Sami trying to flee and warns police are watching the house. He pressures her to confess to Roman and Marlena, but she can’t. Kristen ultimately helps John reveal Sami’s role in Belle’s abduction. At the hospital, the Hortons welcome Laura home, though she still can’t speak. She spots Kate, clenches her fist in anger, and later spits out her medication when Jennifer gives it to her. Victor visits Vivian at Pine Haven, mentioning he and Kate will attend Tom’s New Year’s Eve celebration and plan to have a child. Vivian panics at the thought of Laura seeing Kate. Doug and Julie run into Peter at the hospital and are stunned to learn he’s Stefano’s son. Julie suggests Jennifer interview him for her show.
