Jack is fired after Victor catches him stealing Titan files. Kate tries to help, but Jack uses the visit to search Victor’s study, finding a clipping about beatings, a manuscript titled In the Midnight Hour, and noting Lucas somehow got a pricey BMW for an “18th birthday” that doesn’t match his birth year. Jennifer and Austin gather soil and water samples for contamination testing. A doctor finds no toxins in soil; water results are pending. Austin comforts Jennifer with a rooftop Chinese dinner. Kristen finds what she believes is Stefano’s corpse, but when John arrives with police, the body is gone. Peter pressures her to deny everything, leaving John under suspicion. Kate and Victor clash over Jack, and Kate warns Jack he’s risking his family. Jack fires back that she married Victor for power.
