Lucas arranges a candlelit dinner for Victor and Kate. Kate fears he married her only for the Spectator and demands Jack keep his job; Victor agrees if Jack backs down. Victor later admits he wants a child but can’t promise love. The night ends in a candle‑filled bedroom as Kate expresses real affection. Jack, devastated by the marriage, drinks at the pub and feels he’s failed everyone. Jennifer finds him and insists he’s a wonderful husband and father, especially with Abby’s procedure tomorrow. Though he accepts her comfort, he secretly remains fixated on decoding Victor’s disks. At the Brady Pub, Austin sees Lucas kiss Carrie and realizes their relationship lacks the deep bond Jack and Jennifer share.
