Carly’s funeral is held in the hospital chapel as she lies in an open casket, alive but paralyzed. Jennifer struggles without Jack, who’s in Chicago; Austin supports her. Bo arrives late with a powerful instinct that Carly is still alive and notices her warmth, but everyone dismisses him. He places his jade ring on her finger as mourners share memories. Jennifer recalls their school days, while Vivian whispers a chilling promise to bury Carly alive. The casket closes as Carly silently screams. Elsewhere, Lexie finds a ripped black sweatshirt in Carly’s locker, suspecting the Pacifier works at the hospital. A man in snakeskin boots watches Kristen through a rifle scope. The mourners leave for the cemetery, unaware Carly is conscious as the sealed casket is taken away.
