Carly dies in the hospital. Bo struggles to accept her death and runs off on his motorcycle despite Billie's attempts to stop him. Lawrence grieves while Vivian comforts him suspiciously. Jennifer and Austin get trapped on the hospital roof, spending the evening talking; Austin reveals it's his birthday and he's missing dinner with Billie. When they escape, Tom delivers the tragic news of Carly's death to Jennifer, who finds comfort in Austin's arms. Meanwhile, Kate deliberately keeps Jack occupied at work, discussing infidelity and keeping him late. She intercepts Jennifer's messages to Jack and hides them, then secretly books them adjoining hotel rooms for an upcoming newspaper conference, clearly plotting to separate Jack from Jennifer.
