At the July 4th picnic, Roman cooks while Bo investigates the sabotaged chowder, angering Carly as she defends Nikki. Sami anxiously overeats when John arrives with Brady, confiding to Jamie her love for her family despite their mistakes, then panics about her weight and considers purging. Jennifer visits her catatonic mother Laura at Pine Haven, hoping for answers about Abby. Kate, hiding a secret Laura knows, nervously crosses paths with Jennifer and Austin. Jennifer leaves disappointed, but alone in her room, Laura whispers “Jennifer…,” hinting she may be waking up.
