Lucas and Sami dig into his father’s identity after Kate buys The Spectator, suspicious of her evasiveness. Jack refuses Kate’s job offer, and Jennifer senses Kate has hidden motives. Carrie struggles with her scar, avoiding treatment and pushing Austin away despite his support. Lucas offers her genuine reassurance. Kristen receives urgent calls about John’s arrival in Salem. They clash at the community center over her incomplete grant application, and later John accidentally walks in on her showering, sparking more hostility. He later discovers her application is missing key information, deepening the mystery. Sami agrees to help Lucas investigate his father using her police contact, in exchange for going to Spring Fling with him in uniform. Wendy gets hired at Brady’s Pub, and Sami’s crush on Austin becomes increasingly obvious.
