Jack and Jennifer get a mysterious fax from an unknown backer offering to save the Spectator. Jack confronts Victor, learns he isn’t involved, and negotiates until the backer agrees to give him 10% ownership and the editor’s job. Jack and Jennifer celebrate their victory. Social services threatens to take Wendy’s baby, but Abe, Lexie, Billie and Carrie rally around her. Wendy is allowed to keep her son, Benjamin Carver Reardon. Abe admits he once hoped to give that name to his own child; Lexie confesses she briefly considered adopting him. Lucas tells Sami Kate lied about knowing Marlena. Victor still expects to acquire the Spectator. Carrie meets Lucas in the park, catching his interest.
