Billie, posing as “Miranda Miller,” investigates Kate’s connection to Jack’s manuscript, which Jack is desperate to reclaim from Victor. Carrie refuses Austin’s calls and removes his ring, leaving him crushed. He gives Sami the cabin key meant for Carrie. Roman keeps Carrie isolated under a secret deal while claiming he’s dropped the case against Austin. Jack struggles financially as Victor taunts him about owning the Spectator. Alice questions Kate’s past, but Kate deflects; a reader tells her the manuscript is excellent. Bo catches Cash following Billie and learns Cash plans to leave — until Lloyd’s bribe suggests he’ll stay, fitting Lawrence’s scheme. Taylor reports Cash is key to bringing Bo down. Abe urges Roman to reconnect with Marlena. Victor invites Kate to dinner, noting he knows she lived in Salem eighteen years ago.
