Lawrence tells Carly they must cooperate for their daughter Nikki's sake, then reveals he's considering moving to Italy to escape watching Carly with Bo. However, he confides to Vivian that he'll actually work to break up Carly and Bo, with Taylor as his inside accomplice. At the hospital, Austin wakes and reveals Gus threw acid on him and Carrie. Carrie suffered severe injuries. Sami repeatedly attempts to tell Roman about Marlena and John's connection but is repeatedly interrupted. Marlena visits the chapel to pray for Carrie and feels guilty being near John, believing her involvement with him caused the accident. Roman blames John and Marlena for not disclosing Austin's troubles. Austin is devastated over Carrie's condition.
