John struggles emotionally, removing his wedding ring before attending with Rebecca. During the charity dance auction, he shocks everyone by bidding $100,000 for a dance with Marlena, leaving them locked in an intense stare. At the station, Bo discovers Lawrence owns land through a holding company. Lawrence rushes to dig up the stone cat but is caught by Roman, Bo, and Rebecca. Elsewhere, Sami panics when she and Austin get trapped in a dark elevator. Jack and Billie slip out of the party for separate secret meetings—Jack to meet his “red carnation” contact, Billie to recover stolen money.
