Marlena and John have an intense confrontation in her office after their encounter on the plane. John admits his enduring love and insists their bond is real, but Marlena tearfully refuses and says they can never be alone again. He accepts and leaves her in tears. Carly and Kim visit the Alamain mansion to assess whether Nikki is ready to learn Carly is his biological mother. Vivian resists until Lawrence steps in. After taking Nikki out, Kim says he’s prepared for the truth. Jack chases a major story on Lisanne’s death to beat Sandra Stevens, hoping it will attract investors. Jennifer warns him off, but he persists. Bo searches the woods with Roman and a reluctant Rebecca. Jack places a classified ad arranging an 8 PM pier meeting with the “red carnation” contact, unaware Victor is sabotaging investors. Sami takes Marlena for a makeover before a benefit, briefly lifting her mood—until Marlena spots John at Salem Place and quickly steers Sami away.
