John shocks Roman, Marlena, and Caroline by announcing he’s leaving Salem with Brady. Later, Marlena brings Brady’s teddy bear to his loft, and their talk turns emotional. John admits he’s running because he can’t control his feelings for her, especially so soon after Isabella’s death. Marlena tearfully says she can’t pretend it doesn’t break her heart. When John nearly reaches for her hand, he pulls back and says he’s choosing to stay—then clarifies he means he’s choosing to leave Salem. He asks for her help, and she leaves in tears. Billie tips off Bo and Roman about Cash, leading to Cash’s arrest at Casey’s Roadhouse with drugs and a gun. Carly and Kim discuss Kim’s discovery about Nikki’s parentage, agreeing Bo shouldn’t know since it would force him to choose between his job and Carly’s son.
