At the cabin, Austin discovers Carrie sabotaged the car to stop him from fighting; without the $50,000 purse, he can’t pay the loan sharks, and her desperate act enrages him. Carly and Lawrence meet Kimberly about telling Nikki the truth, while Bo tears up Lawrence’s $25,000 reward offer. Bo and Carly exchange charged glances under Lawrence’s watchful eye. John gives Marlena $10,000 for the twins, and she admits she and Roman haven’t processed his return; John urges her to open her heart. At Wings’ New Year’s Eve party, Marlena and Roman share an intimate moment, and as Auld Lang Syne plays, Bo and Carly lock eyes while Lawrence observes darkly.
