Roman and Marlena return from Colorado and immediately face a crisis: Billie has been using drugs. Marlena agrees to keep it from Roman if Billie enters rehab, and she invites everyone to Christmas dinner. Roman wants quiet time alone with her after the trauma of the pit but reluctantly agrees. Bo tracks down Ike, who reveals he drove Vivian and Nikki to Niagara Falls. At the Alamain mansion, Lawrence’s men find Vivian’s abandoned car; inside a hidden compartment Carly discovers Nikki’s baby blanket, christening robe, and journal. John learns a forged check was written on the day he went to Washington. Believing Carrie may be involved, he confronts Marlena. She’s stunned and fears Carrie might also be using drugs. John insists on speaking to Carrie privately and pressures Marlena not to tell Roman, warning he’ll never confide in her again if she does. Marlena reluctantly agrees, and they head to Carrie’s apartment.
