Billie lands a department‑store job thanks to Carrie but is fired within hours after upsetting a customer. She drifts to the Brady Pub, where Cash approaches her with a cryptic offer. Jack and Jo execute their “Miranda Miller” scheme: Jo nervously impersonates the reclusive author on the phone with agent Suzanna Cooper, and the ruse works—Suzanna agrees to sign the book. Jack quickly hushes Jo’s excitement. Carly arrives at Jennifer’s house distraught: Bo and Nicholas have vanished. Lawrence’s men fail to trace a partial call from Nikki, but Lawrence obtains a recording and storms into Jennifer’s home, threatening to find them. Jennifer is shaken by his sudden appearance. Jack, having spent the day with Jo perfecting the Miranda Miller deception, returns just as Jennifer reflects on how dishonesty destroys relationships. Her pointed comment rattles him, and he hurriedly excuses himself, guilt clearly surfacing.
