While couples celebrate with romantic evenings, Bo and Carly make love on his boat decorated like Cancun, and Jack and Jennifer dance and kiss at home, disaster strikes elsewhere. A warehouse explosion traps John and Marlena in a pit beneath collapsed roofing. John injures his leg digging out and finds Marlena unconscious. He performs mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, but she remains unresponsive. Unaware of the catastrophe, Roman grows concerned when John doesn't arrive at the station. He discovers Marlena's car has been impounded for nearly a month, deepening his worry. Outside the warehouse, thieves steal John's car, the only potential signal of their location. Meanwhile, Carly briefly leaves Bo's boat to comfort Nicholas after a nightmare at Lawrence's mansion, where Vivian argues with her.
