At Victor and Vivian's party, Nicholas meets Carly and plays a piano piece, their old song with Lawrence, sparking jealous tension. Drunk Lisanne "accidentally" spills champagne on Carly; Carly retaliates, and they fight over Lawrence. Lisanne becomes determined to uncover Carly and Lawrence's past. Marlena discovers Roger is a talented painter at the warehouse, moved by his lost dreams due to alcoholism. When Stella arrives, she misinterprets Marlena's encouragement as romantic interference and takes Roger home, believing only she can help him. Marlena convinces Roman to visit the warehouse, but he insists Roger must still face prison despite his talent, he's a danger to society. Vivian assures her assistant she's safe in Salem with no one aware of her secrets. Meanwhile, Lawrence reprimands Lisanne for her drunken behavior, but she overhears hints of his troubled history with Carly and vows to investigate their relationship.
