Carrie is stunned by a $90 phone bill, then alarmed when Jesse brings home an expensive entertainment center bought with a pre‑approved credit card. Professor Gavin attacks Molly and gaslights her into silence, threatening to accuse her of assault. Shaken, she won’t confide in Tanner. Gavin later tells her the honors program is full. Tanner delivers Lucille’s letter, proving Vern and Brian wrong and leaving them devastated.
