Jack and Jennifer recruit Julie to help save the Spectator. Jennifer manipulates Lisanne’s assistant into revealing financial records, and Julie traces the takeover attempt back to Lawrence Alamain. Jack grows fixated on mortality and “wasted time,” insisting he’s transforming, leaving Jennifer confused but trying to accept it. Carrie begins a dangerous affair with Lawrence, arriving in a nightgown and producing a condom. John bursts in, stops them, and reveals Lawrence raped Jennifer and served prison time. Carrie’s infatuation shatters; she flees into Marlena and Roman’s arms. Roman threatens Lawrence while Marlena comforts Carrie. After they leave, John confronts Lawrence with Isabella’s gun. Terrified, Lawrence blurts out: “You wouldn’t kill your own brother!” Isabella tricks Tanner about labor, then confides her worries about Carrie. Tanner admits feeling inadequate after Molly. Isabella realizes John took her gun and urges Tanner to trust Roman and Marlena to handle things.
