At a Salem Museum gala showcasing ancient Mayan codices discovered by Bo and Carly, who announce their engagement, Jack crashes the event desperately trying to reach Jennifer, who's working as a reporter covering the story. Security ejects him after he creates a scene. Back at their penthouse, Jennifer coldly confronts Jack about his behavior while she was away. Jack hints he's uncovered something regarding "Baby Howie" that could win her back, but refuses to reveal details. Jennifer, unimpressed by his antics and considering a job offer elsewhere, gives him one week to prove himself. After she leaves, Jack secretly calls his lawyer Chauncey with urgent business, suggesting he's planning a legal move to sway Jennifer.
