Molly dances to The Nutcracker as Julie helps her get ready for the ballet. Tanner nervously dresses until Brian fixes his tie. Jack hides on Jennifer’s balcony when she returns with Hawk; a neighbor distraction lets Jack slip out unseen. Julie gives Molly a formal dress, and Tanner insists he’s only going for her. Ginger convinces Alice to let Desiree do readings at the restaurant. Tanner arrives with daisies—Molly’s favorite—and they go to the ballet. Jack visits Jo, saying he’s giving up on Jennifer. After the ballet, Tanner and Molly share coffee and talk. Hawk discovers Jennifer decorated his room for Christmas, touched by her gesture. Jennifer writes about it in her diary. Jack lurks outside, remembering their wedding, and decides he’ll fight to win her back.
