Jennifer arranges to withdraw Alice’s trust funds to save the Spectator, planning to make Alice and Mickey stockholders, but Hawk schemes to steal the money. Alice warns Ginger not to trust him. Tanner denies involvement with Ginger to Molly, then tells Ginger he can find her missing daughter Genevieve; she distrusts him because of Hawk. Howard backs Hawk’s bid for the paper, pays off Chauncey, and places a cryptic birthday ad signed “Mother.” Cal learns Jeannie is Shane’s daughter and erupts. When Kayla discovers the truth, Cal holds her at gunpoint and forces her to lure Kim upstairs. Kim rushes in and is captured; Cal traps both women, playing 1960s music as he unravels. Meanwhile, Jennifer reports on Victor’s death and Carly’s murder charges.
