Cal holds Kayla hostage, wiring her window with explosives and planning to force Kim to join them. Roman #2, now called John Black, violently confronts Victor for answers until Roman #1 and Abe stop him. Victor secretly contacts Petrov, who confirms John is “the Pawn,” altered through extensive surgery with errors. The Brady family gathers at Marlena’s, worried about John’s instability; Marlena resists calling him John, torn between both Romans. Isabella arrives, still hiding her pregnancy. Roman #1 can move freely since Cal doesn’t know him, but John and Shane remain targets. Abe convinces John to step down as commander. Isabella invites him to stay at the loft, but he insists on protecting Marlena. Meanwhile, Lawrence questions Gretchen, later finding her in his bed wearing a coin necklace. Shane grows alarmed when Kayla fails to check in.
