Jack grows increasingly anxious about Hawk living in the penthouse, fearing he’ll destabilise his relationship with Jennifer. When she offers Hawk a backrub, Jack pulls her away and later admits how threatened he feels; Jennifer promises they’ll work together to get Hawk out. Meanwhile, Howard, Chauncey, and Hawk continue their con, plotting to keep Ginger from finding her daughter. Ginger refuses to be bought off, still clutching the torn photo that matches Molly’s. Hawk secretly reads Jennifer’s diary and learns she doesn’t trust him; when he overhears Desiree plans another reading, he urgently warns Howard to shut her down. That night Jennifer writes that she’ll research the Hawkins family but keep it from Jack, creating a new secret between them.
