Jennifer panics over her school project, but Frankie helps her finish it at the fishing shack, where they share their first kiss. Frankie’s ex Sasha secretly watches and, after they leave, destroys the project in jealousy. Diana, Shane, Kim, and Mike investigate Hans at a science convention. Diana is devastated to learn her late fiancé James never worked for the foundation as he claimed, while Shane discovers Hans was involved in a secret government project. Melissa starts her job as Jack’s assistant, and they quickly bond. Maggie chooses surgery for her myasthenia gravis, and Mickey admits he feels lost without her. When Jennifer and Frankie return for her purse, they find the project ruined, putting Jennifer’s graduation at risk.
