Kim and Shane’s staged confrontation convinces Emma Shane still wants her, and she agrees to meet him at Neil’s party. Back home, Emma rants that Kim tried to kill her and vows she and Shane will reunite. Alex warns she may not live to see the New Year. Jennifer encourages Frankie to open up after catching him sketching; she and Glenn coax him into a double date. At the party, Emma unleashes a vicious tirade on everyone, ending by telling Kim she’ll never see Andrew again. Kim lunges at her, Paul restrains her, and Emma leaves smugly. Victor warns her outside. Steve and Kayla share an intimate New Year’s Eve at the loft, finally giving in to their feelings. Later, Shane finds Kim shaken, then goes to check on Emma. She’s silent in the study—until she collapses. Shane checks for a pulse and realises she’s dead. Jennifer, Glenn, Frankie and Sasha skate into midnight; Jennifer hugs Frankie, then Glenn kisses her, leaving Frankie quietly heartbroken.
