Steve shows up at the clinic claiming he’s sick, but Kayla sees through him. He spots the mysterious woman again and rushes outside, covering with a joke when Kayla presses him. When the clinic gets swamped, Steve jumps in—taking calls, organising patients, even getting them singing—impressing Kayla. Roman prepares to return to work; Carrie panics, terrified of losing him. Later, she sees a news report about a park shootout and rushes there, running straight into the gunman. Frankie distracts the man long enough for Roman and Abe to subdue him. Roman reassures Carrie he’s not going anywhere. Kim pushes Shane to speed up their plan to make Emma talk. They arrange for Emma to be grabbed and injected with an experimental truth serum. Under its influence, Emma becomes coherent and admits she remembers taking the baby. Steve later catches the mystery woman—Adrienne—outside the clinic.
