Kim and Paul discuss Barbara when Shane arrives with news that Emma is being released. Kim is shaken but agrees to testify so they can find Andrew. In court, Kim and Shane claim they’re no longer sure Emma kidnapped him, and the judge frees her. Emma smugly thanks Shane, believing he still cares; once she’s gone, he vows she’ll pay when Andrew is found. Kayla wakes in Steve’s arms after spending the night at his place. Caroline arrives, sees Steve in a towel, and jumps to conclusions. Later, Kayla kisses Steve, but he panics and bolts. At the clinic, Steve takes Max to help her, then loses track of time. Kayla finds him teaching Max pool at the Cheatin’ Heart and drags Max out. That night, Steve says she doesn’t truly accept who he is and must decide if she can. Kayla already knows her answer. Jennifer begs Glenn not to turn in her friends, but Abe busts them anyway. She’s furious and pulls away despite Frankie trying to help.
