Shane and Gillian hear gunshots near the yachts and rush to the pier. In the water, Steve keeps Kayla afloat as she panics about Roman. Orpheus discovers Roman posed as Steve and is furious; Roman fights to survive after being shot and thrown overboard. Marlena, still captive in Stockholm, realises her call to Vaughn was staged and begs Clark for a real chance to reach Roman. Steve and Kayla reach the docks, where Shane and Gillian find them. They spot Roman in the water; Shane rescues him, and Kayla treats his wound before he’s taken to the hospital. Gillian insists Steve and Kayla hide at Shane’s. Kim stops Neil from drinking and later imagines a future with Shane and Andrew. Kayla argues with Steve about telling Roman the truth, then thanks him for saving her. At Shane’s, Steve refuses to reveal the tattoo copies until he knows where Orpheus is. Kayla watches him sleeping; Marlena clings to Roman’s photos; Roman stands alone on the pier, wounded and heartsick.
