Bo and Hope return to the loft and learn Marlena has been kidnapped. On the pier, Roman finds Britta dying and rushes her to the clinic; Kayla tries to save her, but Britta only repeats Steve’s name before dying. Lars is devastated. Shane updates Kim and Peachy, while Alex delivers Emma’s message, angering Kim. Steve, drunk and unaware, stumbles into the loft mistaking Hope for Kayla; once she sobers him, she tells him Britta is dead, and he runs out. Police wait at his apartment, and he flees insisting he didn’t kill her. Roman and Shane search Britta’s hotel room, learn she acted strangely after a call from Steve, and later find another warning note. Bo arrives at the clinic as Britta’s body is taken away; Roman says Marlena’s kidnappers want the Stockholm bonds, and Britta named Patch. Kayla, shaken, remembers Steve threatening Britta and admits he has a gun. Kayla and Kim regroup at the clinic while Steve wanders Salem in shock.
