Steve and Kay clash over Max and the “system,” while Chris throws Steve out. Melissa struggles with jealousy and pressure as Lars pushes her to use her talent, and Pete worries she’s sacrificing too much. Steve secretly shelters Max and Frankie, warns Frankie about the cops, and promises to find them a safe place. Kay later admits she only wanted to help, and Steve comforts her without revealing the boys are with him.
