Roman hides Britta at his place and learns the ballet‑poster dates form an ISA phone number. Steve and Kayla find Max and Frankie hungry, bruised and terrified; Max’s burn scars and silence convince Kay the boys have no parents. Steve comforts Max and later discovers the brothers living alone, triggering memories of his own childhood. Roman contacts an old ISA ally, Billings, who agrees to come to Salem. Britta keeps slipping in and out of hiding, collapsing on the pier where Roman finds her. Kayla and Steve clash again, but she sees his vulnerability as he admits he never knew the kind of love her family gives. Roman shares his breakthrough with unconscious Marlena, who silently urges him not to give up.
