Steve frantically searches for John, knowing Victor now realises he lied about recognising the Pawn. Britta finds him on the pier; they argue until footsteps force them to hide. It’s John, desperate to reach Marlena, who instead calls Shane for help. Steve alerts Victor, who orders him to stay away—making Steve realise how deep he’s in. A storm knocks out power at Shane’s; Kim rushes over, frightened, and they share a brief tender moment. Pete tries to rebel against Victor by causing trouble at Jump, but Alex warns him to stop. John arrives at Shane’s; Kim is there, but Shane assures him she can be trusted. Victor shows up, pretending concern for Kim, then asks about John. When Victor’s guard appears inside the house, Shane throws them out—only to discover John has slipped away. Britta comforts Steve, and he finally admits he still cares; they make love. Victor, furious John wasn’t found, orders Steve brought in to explain his lies.
